We are celebrating Melanie's wonderful accomplishment today!
The Mocksville Lion's Club has chosen Melanie's poster to represent
Davie County Schools at the next level of their International Organization's
World Peace Poster Contest.  This visual project is completed by thousands of
young artists all over the world.  Our SDMS  8th Grade Artists did a wonderful job on
this project and we look forward to exhibiting their artworks for everyone to see.
The Mocksville Lion's Club visited Melanie and her family this weekend to announce
the big news.  She will also receive a monetary award from them for her artistic efforts.
This project has always been a great way for us to discuss the importance of world peace, as well as, the ways in which Visual Art can effectively express our vision and positive intentions.   Please join me in congratulating Melanie!    A big thanks to The Mocksville Lion's Club for their abundant and dedicated efforts to support children in our community.
